Varsity VB team falls  to Knoxville

The Chariton Varsity volleyball team faced a tough Knoxville team at the Charger Dome in their conference opener Sept. 1. Chariton competed well in the match before falling 3-0. The scores of the match were 14-25, 12-25 and 13-25.

“I was proud of our girls for bouncing back from the Southeast Warren match with determination and discipline. Our blockers did a real nice job getting their hands on the ball at the net tonight. We still have work to do, but we are seeing positive steps in the right direction,” Chariton Head Coach Christopher Watkins said.

In serving, Bailey Shelton went 3-3 and Layne Braby went 3-3. Lexi Smyser went 6-8 with one ace. Leah Doran went 5-7 with one ace. Avery Hall went 6-7.
