Buena Vista University head softball coach Mandie Nocita has announced the hiring of Kylie Bengtson as her new top assistant beginning in the fall of 2020.

Bengtson has experience coaching softball at a variety of levels.  She had been serving as a volunteer assistant softball coach at the University of Northern Iowa since September 2019 and before that was an assistant coach and admissions counselor at Indian Hills Community College (2018-19).

During her one season at IHCC, she worked closely with pitchers and outfielders, including a Second Team All-American hurler and two First Team All-Region outfielders.

“We are excited to welcome Kylie aboard,” says Nocita. “She brings a wide range of experience that we look forward to broadening the scope of our program.”

Bengtson is a 2017 graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where she was a four-year student manager for the Crimson Tide softball team and worked closely with a variety of duties within the program.  She eventually became the head manager and served that role during both her junior and senior years.
