The Chariton 8th grade A boys basketball team played tough defense and had balanced scoring in a 33-10 win over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont at Chariton Jan. 19.
Quinten Gruwell led Chariton with 10 points, three rebounds and two assists. Skyler Storm had eight points, three rebounds and one steal. Cameron Gibson had six points, one rebound, one assist and four steals.
“The boys played well defensively tonight. We did a decent job of rebounding, but we need to be able to finish the put backs. We missed a lot of easy shots. We have struggled somewhat on offense the last couple games, and in practice. We just aren’t making shots. I know the boys will continue to work in practice and hopefully our last game against Davis County we can get the offense going. Overall, all the boys played hard tonight,” Chariton Head Coach Dan Reynolds said.
Brystol Druckenmiller had three points, two rebounds and one steal. Brock Oxenreider had two points, a team-high eight rebounds, two assists and one block. Chase Willis had two points, five rebounds and two blocks. Logan Shore had two points, one rebound, one assist, one steal and one block.
Carver Mason had four rebounds. Cody McCarl had two rebounds and one block. Cayden Schlutz had one rebound and one steal. Kinzer Rodgers had one steal. Braden Alexander had one rebound.
There was no B game against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
