The Chariton Varsity volleyball hosted the annual Charger Invite tournament at the Charger Dome Sept. 12. Chariton played hard and went 0-3 on the day with matches against East Union, Wayne of Corydon and Albia.

East Union

Against East Union Chariton lost 2-0 with the scores being 12-21 and 13-21. In serving, Tammera Alexander went 7-8 with two aces. Layne Braby went 4-4 with one ace and Avery Hall went 3-3 with one ace.

In hitting, Hall had three kills and one block. Caci Goldensoph had two kills. Macy Wood and Alexander each had one block.

Hall had three digs. Lexi Smyser and Braby each had two digs. Smyser had four assists and Grace Watkins had three.

Wayne of Corydon

In their second match against Wayne of Corydon Chariton lost 2-1 with the scores being 21-15, 15-21 and 9-15.

In serving, Alexander went 10-11, 91 percent, with four aces. Hall went 7-8, 88 percent, and had four aces. Watkins went 9-10, 90 percent.

In hitting, Hall led the team with eight kills and had one solo block. Goldensoph had two kills and one block and Wood had two kills.

Smyser led the team with nine assists. Hall had six digs in this match.
