The Chariton boys track team hosted the Charger Relays on a nice sunny afternoon, Tuesday, April 13. As a team, Chariton placed 12th overall with 43 points.

Chariton finished third in the 400-meter hurdles. The Chargers also placed fourth in the 800-meter run, the 3,200-meter run and the distance medley relay. The Chargers placed fifth overall in the 110-meter high hurdles.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Alex Bates placed third overall in 1:02.73. In the 110-meter high hurdles Bates placed fifth overall in 17.78.

In the 800-meter run, Blane Wallace placed fourth overall in 2:19.76. Ethan Fehrer placed ninth in 2:27.50.

In the 3,200-meter run, Connor Dixson placed fourth overall in 11:58.68. Carson Oxenreider placed 12th in 13:28.40.

In the400-meter dash, David Crabb placed sixth overall in 59.89. In the 1,600-meter run, Bradley Hobbs placed sixth in 5:30.19. Dixson placed 13th in 5:48.21.

In the 100-meter dash, Jesse Thomas placed 12th overall in 13.93. In the 200-meter dash, Thomas placed 10th in 28.69.

In the 4 x 100 relay, the team of Cameron Phipps, Drake Entrekin, Aidan Mundt and Cutler Arnold placed seventh overall in 52.94. In the weight man’s 4 x 100 relay, the team of Mac Rich, Corran Forst, Alex Shelton and J.R. McDonough placed seventh overall in 1:02.31.

In the 4 x 200 relay, the team of Phipps, Entrekin, Dreavin Shenefield and Arnold placed seventh overall in 1:49.62. In the 4 x 400 relay, the team of Crabb, Shenefield, Fehrer and Wallace placed seventh overall in 4:10.17.

In the 4 x 800 relay, the team of Hobbs, Crabb, Fehrer and Wallace placed sixth overall in 9:30.90. In the sprint medley relay, the team of Bates, Phipps, Entrekin and Shenefield placed seventh overall in 1:55.31. In the distance medley relay the team of Phipps, Entrekin, Bates and Hobbs placed fourth in 4:14.73.

In the long jump, Thomas placed 11th overall with a jump of 13’6”.

In the shot put, Forst placed eighth overall with a throw of 35’05”. Rich placed 12th with a throw of 29’03”. Shelton placed 14th with a throw of 27’5.5”.

In the discus, McDonough placed 11th overall with a throw of 75’09”. Dane Dyer placed 13th with a throw of 60’02”.

Southeast Warren won the team standings with 146 points. Davis County was second with 145.5 and Interstate 35 was third with 134. Clarke was fourth with 132.5. Cardinal of Eldon was fifth with 132. Moravia was sixth with 115 and Martensdale St. Mary’s was seventh with 110.

Albia was eighth with 104. Creston was ninth with 87 and Pella was 10th with 78. Wayne was 11th with 64. Twin Cedars was 13th with 30.
