The Chariton JV1 girls basketball team fell to Knoxville, 41-36, on Coaches vs. Cancer Night at Knoxville Jan. 23.

The game was tight throughout as Knoxville led 17-16 at halftime. The Panthers outscored Chariton 24-20 in the second half. With the loss Chariton moved to 5-5 overall and 4-5 in the conference.

Chariton had a balanced scoring attack with five players scoring at least six points. Addie McGee led Chariton with nine points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal. Sophie Swarthout had eight points, two assists and one steal.

Tatayana Allen-Winston had seven points, a team-high eight rebounds and one steal. Caci Goldensoph had six points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Grace Watkins had six points, three rebounds, and one steal.

Layne Braby had five rebounds. Tammera Alexander had three rebounds. Tayah Spiker had one steal.
