The Chariton 8th grade boys basketball team gave a strong effort in a 36-17 win over Pleasantville Jan. 5. Cameron Gibson led Chariton with 11 points to go along with one rebound, two assists and one steal.

“I thought the boys played well tonight despite having only two practices since Christmas break. Having only one game tonight, it was hard to get any rhythm going because of subbing players so much. I thought Brystol, Cayden and Mason gave us some nice minutes and Brock and Chase were really aggressive on the boards. We have a lot of work to do in practice this week as we have some tough games next week with Clarke, Knoxville and Albia,” Chariton Head Coach Dan Reynolds said.
Carver Mason had two points and one assist. Brystol Druckenmiller had two points, two assists and one steal. Cayden Schlutz had two points and one rebound. Skyler Storm had two rebounds and two assists. Chase Willis had five rebounds. Brayden Alexander had one rebound and one assist. Cody McCarl had one rebound.
There was no second game or B game vs. Pleasantville.
