At their meeting Monday, Sept. 20, the Chariton City Council approved pay application #1 to KLC Construction for the Lucas-Monroe County Closed Landfill Cap Project.

KLC Construction is working on the landfill cap project. Pay application #1 is for materials and work that has started on the project. Payment #1 is for $68,463.65. The total project cost is $110,900.

The City of Chariton’s engineers, HLW Engineering, has reviewed the request and recommends the payment be made to KLC Construction. The completion date for this project is Sept. 30, 2021.
