After a brief discussion at their regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 7, the Chariton City Council set Beggar’s Night (Trick or Treating) for Saturday, Oct. 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the City of Chariton.
“We always approve this on a council level. There are no other Halloween activities planned on that night, Oct. 30, this year,” Chariton City Manager Laura Liegois said.
“I think that Saturday night the 30th would work out fantastic for the kids,” commented Council member Roger Manser.
Liegois said that the city recommends that Chariton residents that would like to participate in the evening of Beggar’s Night have their porch lights on for the city’s youngest residents to enjoy the evening.
“It is recommended that children be out with an adult that night and be visible for their safety,” Liegois said.
