“I was really proud of the energy we played with tonight in our conference opener. We were a bit flat in the first half and plagued with foul trouble. We played well enough to stay in the game, but that is it. Guys accepted the challenge at halftime and came out with a ton of energy and fight. We exploded with 27 points in the third quarter and held Clarke to 10. We outscored Clarke 44-17 in the second half and I attribute this to our energy, speed and spacing on the court. The increased tempo opened up the court and allowed us to get good shots. It was a great team win tonight and everyone was out there playing for each other-when we play together, we are a really good team. We learned a lot about our team in this season’s first week and we will continue to get better as the season progresses,” Chariton Head Coach Brett Spiker said.

Hunter Koehn had three points, a team-high 11 rebounds and two steals. Carson Rector had three points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Jesse Watkins had two points and four rebounds. A.J. Price had two points.
