The Chariton JV football team evened their record with a 48-0 demolition of Albia at Chariton Monday night.

The JV Chargers jumped out to a 14-0 lead after one quarter and posted 22 points in the second quarter to lead 36-0 at halftime. Chariton scored once in the third quarter and once in the fourth to complete the rout.

“This was an outstanding overall team performance. We dominated from the beginning. It was a fun night and everyone got to play!” Chariton JV Head Coach Josh Snook said.

“Our offensive line of Dax Christensen, Devon Brown, JR McDonough, Mac Rich and Caiden Vandenburg opened up big holes all night for our running backs. Jayden Allen-Winston scored four touchdowns and one two-point conversion and ran the ball very well,” Coach Snook added.

Chariton had 11 first downs in the game and amassed 301 yards of total offense including 255 yards rushing on 30 carries. They also had 46 yards passing. Chariton had two turnovers and was penalized six times for 50 yards.

Quarterback Logan Caudill went 4-4 for 46 yards and two two-point conversions. Alex Bates caught two passes for 40 yards. Brody McReynolds caught one pass for three yards and Caleb Werts caught one pass for three yards.

Allen-Winston led the team in rushing with 89 yards on 12 carries, four touchdowns and one two-point conversion. McReynolds rushed for 29 yards on five carries and scored two two-point conversions. Ryder McGee rushed for 26 yards on four carries and one touchdown.

Alex Bates rushed for 64 yards on three carries. Werts rushed for eight yards on two carries and scored one two-point conversion. Octavio Garcia rushed for two yards on one carry.

Sam Primakov rushed for 34 yards on two carries. Hunter Irving rushed for three yards on one carry and scored one two-point conversion.

Defensively, Primakov had three solo tackles, two assists and one tackle for loss. Bryce Young had two solo tackles, one assist, one sack, two tackles for loss and once forced fumble.

Caudill had two solo tackles, one assist and one tackle for loss. McGee had two solo tackles and one assist. Brown had two solo tackles. Corran Forst had two solo tackles and one tackle for loss. Allen-Winston had two solo tackles and an interception.

Jimmy Collins had two solo tackles. McReynolds had one solo tackle. Nathan Anderson had one solo tackle, one assist, one tackle for loss and one pass deflection. Vandenburg had one solo tackle. Holden DeMaria had one solo tackle and one tackle for loss.
