The Chariton Middle School softball team hosted Oskaloosa in a doubleheader at Chariton June 24. Chariton lost the first game 7-4 and won the second game, 6-4.

In the first game Sydney Cain went 3-3 at the plate with three singles. “Sydney did a great job of seeing the ball at the plate in this game,” Chariton Head Coach Brenda Peterson said.
McKenzie Snook went 3-3 with three singles and a stolen base. Abigail Doran went 1-3 with a double, two RBIs and two stolen bases including stealing home. Addie McGee went 1-2 with a double. Briley Atwell went 1-3 with a single and a walk.
Heidi Ballard went 0-3. Addie Peterson went 0-3 with an RBI and a walk. Hailee Smith went 0-3 with a stolen base and a walk. Jayden Rodgers went 0-1 and Lucy Stratton went 0-3.
Stratton was the pitcher in this game and Cain was the catcher.
Chariton 6 Oskaloosa 4
In this game, Peterson went 2-2 with two singles and four stolen bases including that she stole home. Doran went 1-2 with a single, an RBI, three stolen bases and a walk.
McGee went 0-2 with a walk. Ballard went 0-1.
Snook went 1-2 with a single, an RBI and three stolen bases including that she stole home. Smith went 0-1 with a stolen base and a walk. Rodgers went 1-1 with a double and an RBI.
Stratton went 0-1 and Olyvia Ohneums went 0-1. Paige Andrews went 0-2. Sammie Sharp went 0-2 with two stolen bases including that she stole home. Cain went 0-2.
