Editor’s Note: This is a volleyball match from earlier in the season that didn’t get in the paper.

The Chariton Varsity Volleyball team competed in a triangular match with Pleasantville and Interstate 35 at Pleasantville back on Sept. 19.

Interstate 35 match

In the match against Interstate 35, Chariton lost 2-0 with the scores being 19-25 and 14-25.

In serving, Chariton went 30-35 with three aces. Lexi Smyser went 10-11 with one ace. Leah Doran went 7-7 with one ace. Taylor Pennington went 4-6 with one ace. Trinity Rodgers went 3-3 and Riley Mackey went 3-4. Avery Hall went 2-3 and Abby Tuttle went 1-1.

In hitting, Chariton went 22-35 with six kills. Hall went 8-12 with three kills. Pennington went 7-10 with two kills. Doran went 3-3 with one kill.

Esther Sundquist went 1-1. Smyser went 1-2 and Mackey went 1-2. Tammera Alexander went 1-1. Mikayla McCurdy went 0-4.

Chariton had five assists as a team. Smyser and Tuttle each had two assists and Mackey had one. Chariton had six digs as a team.

Rodgers had three digs and Hall had two. Pennington had one.

In blocking, Hall had two blocks solo.
