The Chariton girls track team did very well at the District meet in Eddyville this past Thursday night. Chariton’s Emma Cochran qualified for State in the 100-meter hurdles placing second overall in 16.51.
Chariton had a number of other high finishes including placing fourth in the shuttle hurdle relay and distance medley relay. They placed fifth in the 4 x 800 relay and the 400-meter hurdles.
As a team, Chariton placed ninth overall out of 12 teams with 33 points.
In the shuttle hurdle relay, Chariton’s team of Bailey Shelton (19.72), Sailor Anderson (19.11), Vivian Bauer (19.7) and Cochran (15.86) placed fourth overall in 1:14.92.
In the distance medley relay, the team of Cochran (28.76), Erin Payton (28.45), Grace Bengtson (1:04.45) and Avery Hall (2:33.4) placed fourth overall in 4:35.41.
In the shuttle hurdle relay, Shelton placed 14th overall in 19.28.
In the 4 x 800 relay, the team of Sailor Anderson (2:43.95), Ruth Vahnenko (2:44.33), Cheyenne Michael (2:51.53) and Hall (2:43.9) placed fifth overall in 11:04.34.
In the 400-meteer hurdles, Anderson placed fifth overall in 1:10.78. In the 4 x 400 relay, the team of Bengtson (1:06.81), Payton (1:09.37), Anderson (1:06.01) and Hall (1:09.42) placed sixth in 4:32.01.
In the sprint medley relay, the team of Cochran (13.93), Payton (13.72), Bengtson (28.28) and Hall (1:04.71) placed seventh in 2:00.99. In the 4 x 200 relay, the team of Payton (30.1), Taylan Thomas (29.55), Leah Doran (30.39) and Bengtson (28.54) placed eighth in 1:59.09.
