The Chariton Varsity softball team did well with three girls named to the 2019 All-South Central Conference team. Senior catcher Macy Johnston was named to the All-SCC Second Team and senior Grace Bengtson and eighth grader Layne Braby were both named to Honorable Mention.

The All-SCC First Team had six unanimous selections including Albia junior pitcher Jena Lawrence, Albia junior catcher Alex Beard, Albia senior shortstop Kennedy Schroeder, EBF senior pitcher and outfielder Reina Taylor, Davis County senior outfielder Bailea Yahnke and Knoxville senior outfielder Emery Neer.

Other first team selections were Clarke senior shortstop Ashlyn Oehlert, Centerville sophomore third baseman Claire Matthews, EBF sophomore outfielder Emma Lenox and Clarke junior pitcher Alexis Watson.

Those named to the All-SCC Second Team were Chariton senior catcher Macy Johnston, Albia junior first baseman Makenna Ross, Albia sophomore pitcher/utility player MacKenna Jones, Knoxville senior outfielder Alex Griggs, Knoxville junior third baseman Maddy Findley, EBF junior third baseman Madysen Wade, EBF freshman catcher Rylee German, Davis County eighth grade outfielder Sophia Young, Clarke sophomore first baseman Emma Bolton, and Centerville junior outfielder Taylor Shinn.
