The Chariton JV wrestlers competed at the JV Southern Iowa Classic tournament at Fairfield this past Friday, Jan. 25.

Chariton had five wrestlers competing and they all placed in their respective weight classes. Sam Primakov placed second in the JV 134-136 pound division. Isaac Coker placed third in the JV 132-137 pound division and JR McDonough placed third in the JV 180-191 pound division.

Nathan Sims placed fourth in the JV 169-178 pound division and Alex Shelton placed fourth in the JV 178-179 division.

At 134-136 pounds, Primakov pinned Trenton Gebhardt of Burlington in the first round in 5:10. In round two Primakov pinned Mason Haskell of Centerville in 2:42. In round three, Primakov was pinned by Ashtin Tibbits of Keokuk in 4:27 to finish second.

At 132-137, Coker was pinned in the first round by Eli Zanoni in 2:45. In round two, Coker pinned Tiago Burton of Centerville in 1:38. In round three Coker was pinned by Levi Boudewyn of Keokuk in 37 seconds to finish third.

At 180-191, McDonough pinned Zack Glasscock of Keokuk in the first round in 1:58. In round two, McDonough was pinned by Doug Flattery of Albia in 1:14. In round three, McDonough was pinned by Otis Williams of Centerville in 2:59.
