Chariton varsity boys soccer team posts 6-1 win at Centerville

The Chariton varsity boys soccer team posted a 6-1 win at Centerville April 10.

“The boys played really well tonight. We were able to take the lead early in the game and we never really looked back,” Chariton Head Coach Cole Pierschbacher said.

Chariton outscored Centerville in the first half 4-0.

Gabe Ruepke started the scoring with a nice shot from 30 yards out. The next goal came from Royce Stuart. Stuart received the ball deep in Centerville territory on a nice pass from Gabe Ruepke and put it into the back of the net.

The third goal came from a nice shot by Cameron McDonald beating the keeper near post to put Chariton up 3-0. The fourth and final goal of the first half came from Stuart with a nice assist from Noah Weaver.

Chariton dominated the start of the second half scoring two early goals. The first goal of the half came from a nice assist from Stuart to Cameron McDonald. McDonald finished near side and put Chariton up 5-0.

Shortly after the fifth goal, Noah Weaver broke free, beat a defender and kicked the ball past the keeper to make the score 6-0. The lead remained at 6-0 for Chariton until late in the game when they gave up a goal on a deep shot from Centerville.
