Chariton Archery started their season off with their first tournament on Saturday Dec. 28 at Albia. Chariton High School team got 3rd place with a score of 3,066.

Top 12 archers on the team receiving team medals were Alex McGee 269, Whitney Barber 268, Desmon Logston 260, Sammie Zuel 258, Vladmir Franchuk 255, Stuart Masters 253, Jayden Raeder 253, JR McDonough 252, Paige Graham 251, Kolby Welch 250, Reagan Mackey 249 and Tiffany Kern 248.

High School Archer of the week is Alex McGee with her top score of 269. “Alex has been in archery for five years, way to go Alex,” Coach J.D. McDonald said.

The Chariton Middle School team got 2nd place with a score of 3,025. Archers receiving 2nd place team medals were Blayne Beaty 270, Bailey McReynolds 269, Landen Martin 266, Mason Smith 265, Cayden Schlutz 261, Ethan Werts 252, Zachary Poling 251, Angelica Dzyubenko 244, Natalie Shore 240, Adrian O’Leary 237, Gage Hart 237, and Aurora Rominger 233.

Blayne Beaty placed 4th in Middle School boys and Bailey McReynolds placed 3rd in Middle School girls. Archer of the week for the Middle School division is Bailey McReynolds, with her best score of 269.
