The Chariton Archery teams traveled to Ottumwa for the Winter Iowa Games-NASP 3D on Saturday Feb. 15. The Chariton High School team medaled with 3rd place out of four teams with a score of 1,615, which is their highest score so far this year for 3D.

Shooting for team and receiving Iowa Game medals were: Austin Metzger 272, Desmon Logston 272, Ramisis Celander 271, Jayden Raeder 270, Jackie Rodgers 270, and Whitney Barber 260.

The Archer of the Week was Ramisis Celander. He shot his personal best in 3D with a score of 271, beating his high of 266 last year. He has been in archery for four years. “Keep improving like that Ramisis. Coach JD is proud of your improvement,” Coach JD McDonald said.

The Chariton Middle School team placed 2nd out of seven teams with a score of 1,584, which is their highest team score this year for 3D.

Archers shooting for team and receiving Iowa Games medals were Cayden Schlutz 267, Mason Smith 267, Landen Martin 267, Natalie Shore 266, Gage Hart 261, and Bailey McReynolds 256. Medaling individually were Cayden Schlutz 5th and Natalie Shore 5th.
