One highlight of the third three months in sports was the CHS baseball and softball players that were named to their respective all-conference teams. The CHS Varsity baseball team had four players named to All-Conference including senior catcher Jackson Fisher, who was named to First Team All-SCC.

The CHS Varsity softball team had three players named to All-Conference including senior catcher Macy Johnston, who was named to the All-SCC Second Team.

Another highlight was the fast start of the Chariton girls cross country team, who began the season with a second place finish at the Wayne meet and followed this with team championships at both the Central Decatur and Fairfield meets.

The CHS boys cross-country team also began the season well and recorded a second place team finish at the Central Decatur meet.

After losing by blowouts in their season openers to Creston, the Chariton Varsity and JV football teams each responded by picking up two blowout wins over Albia and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in their next two games to move to 2-1 overall.
