The Chariton JV Volleyball team’s season got off to a good start with two wins in their first meet in the home triangular at Chariton this past Tuesday night.
The CHS JV girls won their first match against Central Decatur, 2-1, with the scores being 21-12, 21-23 and 15-12. They won their second match against Wayne, 2-0, with the scores being 21-13 and 21-17.
In the match against Central Decatur, Chariton went 45-53 serving with 25 aces. Tammera Alexander went 16-16 with 12 aces. Clara Stuart went 11-11 with five aces. Layne Braby went 7-8 with three aces. Emma Rector went 6-7 with one ace.
Charlotte Entrekin went 3-4 with three aces. Brooklyn Collins went 2-3 with one ace. Lexi Smyser went 0-3 and Tenley Williams went 0-1.
In hitting, Chariton went 18-23 with seven kills. Alexander went 5-5 with no kills. Caci Goldensoph went 6-7 with one kill. Macy Wood went 3-5 with two kills. Brenna Shriver went 1-1 with one kill. Entrekin went 1-1 with one kill. Williams went 1-2 with one kill. Abbey Masters went 1-1 with no kills and Collins went 0-1.
Chariton had three assists as a team. Rector led the team with two assists. Masters had one assist.
Against Wayne, Chariton went 17-27 in serving with eight aces. Stuart went 6-9 with one ace. Braby went 4-6 with three aces. Macy Wood went 2-2 with one ace. Smyser went 2-3 with one ace.
Collins went 1-1 with one ace. Rector went 1-2 and Alexander went 1-4 with one ace.
