The Chariton Middle School softball team swept a doubleheader at Albia June 27. The CMS girls won the first game, 6-5, and the second game, 7-5.

Six players had multiple hits for Chariton in this game. Addie McGee went 4-4 with two singles, a double and a triple. Addie Peterson went 3-4 with three singles and Sydney Cain went 3-4 with three singles.

“Addie McGee had some solid key hits during this game. We really competed this game and our outfield had great catches!” Coach Brenda Peterson said.

Abigail Doran went 2-4 with two singles, two RBIs and a stolen base. McKenzie Snook went 2-4 with two triples, an RBI and a stolen base. Lucy Stratton went 2-3 with two singles.

Hailee Smith went 1-4 with a single. Jayden Rodgers went 1-3 with a single and two RBIs. Heidi Ballard went 0-3.

Stratton was the pitcher in this game and McGee was the catcher.

Chariton 7 Albia 5

In this game, McGee went 2-2 with an in the park home run and a single and an RBI. Peterson went 2-2 with two singles and three stolen bases. Sharp went 2-2 with two singles and a stolen base.

Doran went 1-2 with a single and an RBI. Atwell went 1-2 with a single. Ballard went 0-2 with a walk and Snook went 0-2 with a stolen base and a walk.
