The Chariton 7th grade football team gave a strong all-around effort in a 34-24 win at Knoxville Oct. 3. Brock Oxenreider had an outstanding game rushing for 247 yards on 26 carries, three touchdowns and three two-point conversions.

“Our offensive line did a great job of blocking tonight for Brock,” Chariton Head Coach Chad Darrah said.

Quarterback Quinten Gruwell rushed for four yards on two carries and had the team’s other touchdown with a one-yard run. He also added a two-point conversion.

Kaleb Offenburger rushed for 17 yards on three carries. Kenton Jensen rushed for 14 yards on three carries. Josh Primakov rushed for nine yards on one carry.

Gruwell completed one pass for 10 yards. Jensen had one reception for 10 yards.

Defensively, Offenburger played a solid game with eight tackles. Skyler Storm and Josh Primakov had four tackles apiece. Jensen had three tackles. David Aslanidi, Kaiden Shade, Trent Tuttle and Cayden Schlutz each had two tackles. Tuttle also had a fumble recovery.
