The Chariton JV baseball team fell to Albia, 12-2, in three innings at Chariton June 3.

Albia scored eight runs in the first inning to go up 8-0. Chariton responded with one run in the bottom of the first to cut it to 8-1. Each team scored once in the second to make it 9-2 after two innings. The JV Blue Demons added three more runs in the third for the rest of the game’s scoring.

Nathan Anderson took the loss on the mound. In two and 1/3 innings he gave up 10 runs, six earned, on four hits while striking out two and walking seven. Logan Demichelis pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up two unearned runs on two hits while striking out two and walking one.

Chariton had not hits at the plate along with four walks, four strikeouts and one RBI. Albia had six hits, four strikeouts, eight walks and five RBIs. Chariton left five runners on base and Albia left seven. Chariton committed four errors on defense and Albia committed two.
