A big first two innings by Pella was too much for the Chariton JV baseball team to overcome in an 8-0 loss in four innings at Pella May 30. The Little Dutch scored three runs in the first and five runs in the second and held on for the win.

Preston Lane took the loss on the mound. In one and 2/3 innings he gave up eight runs, six earned, on five hits while striking out one and walking four. Logan Demichelis pitched two and 1/3 innings and gave up no runs and no hits while striking out four and walking one.

Chariton had three hits at the plate along with no walks and five strikeouts. Pella had five hits, five walks, five strikeouts and five RBIs. Each team left four runners on base. Chariton committed four errors defensively and Pella committed one.

At the plate, Kaden Fitzgerald went 1-2 with a single and Ashton Vitale went 1-2 with a single. Hunter Wilson went 1-1 with a single.
