Lady Chargers use big second half to steamroll Albia, 70-42

The Chariton Varsity girls used a big second half to get a 70-42 win over Albia at Chariton Tuesday night. Chariton led 29-28 at halftime but went on an offensive tear in the second half to outscore the Lady Dees, 36-19, to win by 28.

With the win, Chariton moved to 2-0 overall in the conference and 2-2 overall. The Chariton girls and boys team host Knoxville Friday night.

Emma Rector and Avery Hall combined for 53 points. Rector had a team-high 27 points including four three-pointers to go along with two rebounds, six assists and six steals.

Hall went 12-22 from the field and had 26 points, eight rebounds, one assist, five steals and three blocks.
