Dr. Roy Nicholas Pettinger died Jan. 28, 2019, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was 63.
He was born March 2, 1955 in Chariton, Iowa, to Robert and Erville Pettinger. He graduated from Russell High School in 1973, and then from Central College in Pella, Iowa, and Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. He practiced emergency medicine for many years.
Survivors include his brothers, Gerald Pettinger of Russell, Iowa, and Dr. Thomas (Mrs. Susan) Pettinger of Vail, Ariz. as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and by his sister, Marilyn Hall, and her husband, Dean Hall.
His body was cremated; no services were currently planned.
