At their meeting this past Wednesday morning, the Lucas County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution accepting the retirement of Toni Irving from the Lucas County Treasurer’s office effective June 28, 2019.
The board also approved a resolution naming the depositories of county funds for the 2019-20 fiscal year. The depositories’ name followed by the location of the home office and the maximum deposit amount for each are as follows:
• County Treasurer-IPAIT-Wells Fargo-$4 million
• County Treasurer-Community State-$3.5 million
• County Treasurer-Midwest Heritage-$1 million
• County Treasurer-U.S. Bank-$2 million
• County Treasurer-Great Western-$7.5 million
• County Recorder-Midwest Heriage-$50,000
• County Sheriff-Great Western-$1 million
• Public Health-Midwest Heritage-$40,000
Appropriations resolution approved
The board also approved the Appropriations resolution for fiscal year 2020. This resolution makes appropriations for expenditures from each county department for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019, in accordance with the Code of Iowa.
Also approved was the Iowa Wage Publication Report, which tells what the salaries of each county employee were in fiscal year 2019.
The board also approved the resolution for Interfund operating transfers, which is necessary in order for the county to transfer money from the rural basic fund to the secondary roads fund in an amount not to exceed $741,774 for fiscal year 2020.
Five-day liquor license for RAGBRAI approved
The board also approved a five-day Class C Liquor license for RAGBRAI from July 21-25, 2019. Chariton will be a pass-through town for RAGBRAI on July 24, 2019. The business that applied for this Class C Liquor License was Iowa Beer Bus/Sassy slushy out of Pleasantville.
The board approved a one-year tobacco/nicotine/vapor permit for Ma and Pa Convenience Store in Lucas effective July 3, 2019, through June 30, 2020.
A wage resolution was approved stating that Nancy Manser’s wage as a permanent part-time clerk in the Lucas County Recorder’s office will increase to $10.82 an hour effective July 1, 2019.
