At their recent meeting, the Chariton City Council approved the third and final reading of the ordinance amending Chapter 10.12 of the Chariton Municipal Code due to Yield signs being added to the City of Chariton. Along with the third reading, the council also approved to adopt the ordinance.

Yield signs will be added at the following six locations:

• On the northwest corner of the intersection of 11th Street with Woodlawn Avenue.

• On the northwest corner of the intersection of 12th Street with Woodlawn Avenue.

• On the southeast corner of the intersection of 14th Street with Woodlawn Avenue.

• On the northwest corner of the intersection of 15th Street with Woodlawn Avenue.

• On the southeast corner of the intersection of Sixth Street with Ashland Avenue.

• On the northwest corner of the intersection of Sixth Street with Ashland Avenue.

Second reading of STOP sign ordinance approved

The council also approved the second reading of the ordinance adding STOP signs to the City of Chariton at the intersection of South 13th Street and Armory Avenue. This ordinance will have one more reading before the council votes to adopt the ordinance.

At their Oct. 7 meeting, the council approved the first reading of this ordinance along with an addition stating that the intersection of South 13 St. and Armory will be a four-way stop.

STOP signs will be added on the north and south side of 13th Street and the east and west side on Armory.

The council also approved the third and final reading to amend Chapter 15.16 of the City Code to adopt the International Property Maintenance Code.
