Seats Incorporated, a multi-location manufacturing firm headquartered in Reedsburg, Wisc., is planning an expansion to Chariton.

The company will be locating the majority of its metal fabrication operations in Chariton within the next year and hopes to ultimately employ up to 50 people at the new Chariton location.

The real estate closing on the purchase of the former Stratford Homes facility will occur in mid-September 2019 and the leadership team for the expansion project will be defining job opportunities and a time table for recruiting and hiring soon after the closing is accomplished.

The tentative plan is to initially recruit locally in the Chariton area for two professional positions and between four and six skilled CNC operator positions to be in place later this fall.

Recruiting for general production positions is anticipated to begin after the first of the new year with actual new-hire start dates being staggered across the transition period, which involves the sequenced moving of equipment to Iowa.
