The Chariton City Council set a date for a public hearing regarding the sale of two sanders from the City Street Department at their meeting Monday night.

The hearing was set for Monday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m. in the council chambers at Chariton City Hall at 115 S. Main. Sealed bids for the equipment will be due on Nov. 26 at 10 a.m. at Chariton City Hall. The City of Chariton reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

The two sanders to be sold are described as follows: a 2008 Henderson stainless steel slide in sander for a pickup truck with a Honda gas motor and a 2005 Henderson 10-foot slide in sander for a dump truck.

Council member Ruth Smith asked what the city has in place for the sanders that will be sold. Liegois said they already have sanders in place to use and that the ones being sold are extra ones that are no longer needed.
