Supervisor Larry Davis gave an update on the window replacement project being done at the Lucas County Courthouse at this past Wednesday’s board of supervisors’ meeting.
Phase I of replacing the windows on the east side of the building has been completed. All the windows on the east side have been changed except for one on the second floor, which will be replaced later. Along with the windows on the east side, some of the windows around the bottom of the building have been replaced as well.
“We’re done with replacing windows right now. More windows will be replaced after RAGBRAI is completed,” Davis said.
Phase II of the courthouse window replacement project, which is replacing windows on the south side of the building, will begin after Aug. 1, 2019
County Recorder Laurie Hunter commented that the new windows look really nice. County Engineer Todde Folkerts, whose office is in the basement of the courthouse, commented that he could already notice the difference with less heat and cold coming in the building.
