Chariton Middle School-Todd Jensen speaks about military service

Chariton native and Afghanistan War Veteran Todd Jensen speaks about his time serving in Afghanistan during the Chariton Middle School Veterans Day assembly.

Chariton Middle School held a Veterans Day assembly Monday afternoon that included a presentation from Chariton native and Afghanistan War veteran Todd Jensen.

CMS Social Studies teacher Danielle Van Ryswyk began the assembly by telling about a new group formed at the middle school called CMS Students for Veterans. CMS seventh grade student Chase Willis is the founder of the group, whose main purpose is to support those serving in the military, past and present. He is the son of Luke and Sarah Willis of Chariton.

Van Ryswyk and CMS English/Language Arts teacher Sarah Shutt are the two sponsors for CMS Students for Veterans.

Jensen gives presentation about time in Afghanistan

Chase Willis introduced Todd Jensen, who spoke about his time serving in Afghanistan.

Jensen is from Chariton and graduated from Chariton High School in 1988. He just completed a term on the Chariton School Board and decided not to run again in the recent election.
