On Election Day in Lucas County Tuesday, two new people were elected to the Chariton City Council and one new person was elected to the Chariton School Board.
There were contested mayor’s races in Williamson and Derby and in both towns, the incumbent came out on top. The canvas for Tuesday’s election will be held Wednesday, Nov. 13. The unofficial results from Tuesday’s election are as follows.
Four people, all first time candidates, were running for two at large seats on the Chariton City Council. Stephen Fenton and Michael Loew won the seats with Fenton receiving the most votes with 244 and Loew receiving the second most with 222.
Also running in Chariton, Jarrett McGee received 198 votes and Mark Giese received 47 votes. There were eight write-in votes.
