Students inducted into National Honor Society

The annual National Honor Society tapping ceremony for Chariton High School was held at Johnson Auditorium this past Wednesday morning. A total of 13 students were inducted into NHS at the ceremony. Current NHS members were also recognized and a history of National Honor Society was given as well.

The formal induction ceremony was held at Johnson Auditorium this past Sunday afternoon. The new CHS National Honor Society Advisor this year is Joy Drake.

The new members include; Tenley Williams, daughter of Misty and Andy Williams; Sam Ilyenko, son of Mike and Elena Ilyenko; Paige Farrell, daughter of Katie and Jason Farrell; Esther Sundquist, daughter of JoAnn and Philip Sundquist; Cain Geesaman, son of Chad and Courtney Geesaman; Macray Rich, son of Andy and Dee Rich; Clara Stuart, daughter of Jason and Karen Stuart.

Also, Deidre Wiest, daughter of Christie and Craig Stout; Brenna Shriver, daughter of Jake and Angie Shriver; Savannah Williams, daughter of Dawn and Daryl Williams; Sailor Anderson, daughter of Tom and Jodi Anderson; Mikayla McCurdy, daughter of Corie Gwinn and Andrew McCurdy; and Bailey Shelton, daughter of Laura and Todd Shelton.

CHS Principal Tracy Hall gave the introduction at the tapping ceremony. He said that they were there to recognize students chosen for induction into National Honor Society based on their displaying of the four main NHS qualities of scholarship, service, leadership and character.
