Bingo is held every Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Senior Center. Everyone is welcome.

Kiwanis

Kiwanis meets every Friday at 6:30 a.m. at the Lucas County Health Center in conference room A. Visitors are welcome to join us for breakfast.

The Kiwanis 3-2-1 Club will meet on the last Monday of the month at Lucas County Health Center’s Conference Room A at 6 p.m.

Suicide Support Group

The Safe Place a suicide support group meet the first Thursday of each month from 6:30-8 p.m. at Celebrate Church, 1005 N. Lincoln, Knoxville, Iowa, located directly across from the race track. Please contact Shelly at 641-891-5912 with any questions.

New Horizon’s Widows Group

New Horizon’s Widows Group will meet at the Senior Center on the first Thursday of every month. Lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. with games to follow. Please bring a guest.

10 • 15 Public Transportation

4th of July Committee

Please join the 4th of July Committee, December 7 at 6:00 pm at the Carpenter’s Hall Rotary Room. As of now, we only have a committee of 5 people. Unfortunately, this low number makes it is impossible to hold fundraisers or even to plan and execute the Fourth of July celebration. Without additional volunteers, this committee will have to disband and the long-standing Fourth of July celebration will end. If you have any questions, please contact Alesha Bahr 712-299-8834.

Chariton Valley Piecemaker's Quilt Guild

The Chariton Valley Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild will meet on December 4th at the First Lutheran Church at 1004 Curtis Avenue in Chariton with a potluck beginning at 6 pm. Bring a dish to share. The Guild Meeting will begin at 7 pm. Bring a home/hand made ornament to exchange. Bring Christmas gifts for show & tell. Everyone is welcome and invited to attend.

Notice date change for the meeting to the first Monday of the month only for December.

Chariton Valley Players presents “A Christmas to Believe In”

“A Christmas to Believe In” will be presented at Carpenter’s Hall in Chariton on Friday, Dec. 15th at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Chariton Chamber office. Questions contact Jennifer Alexander 641-203-1883.

Williamson Jam Session

There will be a Williamson Jam Session at the Williamson Community Center on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. All musicians welcome. Bring food to share. Come enjoy the music and fellowship.

Young-at-Heart

The Young-at-Heart group will meet in fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church at 6 p.m. for a soup supper on Friday, Dec. 1. Donna, Mary Louise and Betty will bring soup. The rest will bring salad, dessert or cold sandwiches. Each person is to bring an UNWRAPPED white elephant item to be auctioned. All proceeds go to local charities. Guests are welcome.

Dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease meetings

The dates for the December meetings are Tuesday, the 5 and the 19. This is for anyone caring for a friend or family member with Dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease. The meeting usually takes place the first and third Tuesday of every month at Homestead Assisted Living, 1110 N. 6th Street in Chariton from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend! Donna’s Day
